Great Stirrup Cay
I was able to visit a local night club that I have been wanting to go to for some time so I was appreciative of the opportunity even though it was a result of missing Great Stirrup Cay. We also visited some of my other favorite venue’s in Nassau including Pirate Republic Brewery and Senor Frogs. We have visited Nassau numerous times, so we decided to simply sleep in late and stay on the Sky. However, for first time visitors, while a crowded and busy island, there are numerous things to visit and see, including Paradise Island. I would recommend taking a walk or taxi up to the John Watling’s Rum Distillery.

Owners Suites have separate living and dining rooms, bedroom (queen bed), balcony (with round whirlpool tub), bathroom (bathtub, shower). SF has a whirlpool bathtub, and SG (on deck 10 starboard) is a modified balcony cabin for disabled guests. These suite accommodations have 2 lower beds (convertible) and private balconies.
I recently had the opportunity to sail aboard the Norwegian Sky for a quick three night Bahamas sailing. It was my second time on the ship and I thoroughly enjoyed my time on board. I would like to touch on a few points that will hopefully help those of you thinking about taking the Sky in the near future. I should mention that this sailing usually has a stop at Great Stirrup Cay, but due to delayed renovations on the island we did not visit and had an extended overnight stay in Nassau. In addition to the children’s pool and children’s hot tub on Deck 12, Norwegian Sky also offers two specific kids venues, one for ages 5 to 12, Splash Academy, and one for teenagers.
You can enjoy it all, whether you take a dip or you’d prefer to stay nice and dry on one of the many sun beds or deck chairs scattered across Deck 11. From top to bottom and from bow to stern, Norwegian Sky has enough onboard activities to fill every minute of your cruise. Norwegian Cruise Line is known for a wide selection of dining options, but due to its size, the Norwegian Sky understandably cannot include the brand's full array of restaurants. Still, its two main dining rooms are up to the task of serving very good cuisine, including Cuban specialties like tasty Frituras de Malanga when in Havana.
